Emma Newall
Hi, I’m Emma and the friendly face who will greet you at Dunedin Orthodontics. I love getting to know all of our patients and their families and seeing the difference orthodontic treatment can make in our patients lives, along with the perfect smile they achieve at the end of their orthodontic journey. Out of the office you will find me spending time with my beautiful family, cooking up a storm, gardening, reading and walking the dogs.
Nikki Coltellaro
Hi, my name is Nikki and I'm a tooth nerd enthusiast. I’m super passionate about empowerment in oral health and would argue nothing beats your natural teeth. People might describe me as smiley, professional and calming in the dental setting. On the weekends I enjoy the outdoors, fitness, time with friends and good food. I moved down south from the hustle and bustle of Auckland to return to study and enjoy the gentle pace of Dunedin. Otago BOH graduate. Otago BDS Student.
Sheryn Mcleod
Hey there! I'm Sheryn, your friendly clinical assistant. With over 10 years of chairside experience in various areas, including the sterilising department at the School of Dentistry, Orthodontics has definitely become a fast favourite. When I'm not in the clinic, I'm coaching CrossFit classes and my partner and I are wrangling four teenagers and three dogs at home. I'm always up for some terrible humour and dog chats.
Dr Rosanna Harris
Hi I’m Rosanna and I work behind the scenes at Dunedin Orthodontics, although you may see me pop in from time to time. I graduated with a BDS (distinction) from the University of Otago in 2014. I have worked in both public health and private practice since then and I currently practice general dentistry at Dentistry on Highgate. I am passionate about dentistry and about helping patients achieve their goals. I love the outdoors and I have a baby at home who keeps me very busy along with a very high energy dog.
Our Practice
Located in the heart of Dunedin, we are in Burn’s House in the Octagon. Our practice is a friendly, caring and welcoming environment filled with up to the minute equipment and a highly skilled, professional team.
We’d love to hear from youOur Technology
The digitalisation of orthodontic record taking, diagnosis and treatment planning creates a vast array of advantages. We are a fully digital practice with the ability to pass all of these advantages on to our patients.
We’d love to hear from you3D Intraoral Scanning
The iTero digital scanner streamlines orthodontic processes with precise digital impressions, improving treatment planning and enhancing patient comfort without traditional messy materials
CBCT (high resolution 3D imaging)
CBCT in orthodontics offers detailed 3D images for precise diagnosis, treatment planning, and monitoring of orthodontic conditions
Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) is an invaluable tool for assessing the important anatomical structures in the jaws when required. This is a lower radiation variation of the traditional CT scan and gives us a three-dimensional image of the area scanned. Not all patients require CBCT but in some cases this is critical to determining the position of buried teeth or reviewing other abnormalities. We are one of the few places in Dunedin that can do this for you on site if required.
3D Printed Models
3D printed models provide precise replicas of your teeth in high resolution
We can turn the 3D scan of your teeth into a high resolution 3D printed model. This is for our Specialist Orthodontist to assess following completion of your treatment. Your retainers will be accurately made on site off these very models. It also provides a tangible record of your new smile that you can take home at the end of your treatment.
State of the art patient management & monitoring technology
TOPS Orthodontic Management Software streamlines your care through comprehensive digital tools for appointment scheduling, patient records, and treatment planning
Digital Xrays
Digital X-rays enhance diagnostic efficiency, reduce radiation exposure, and allow for immediate image analysis, improving overall patient care
Digital x-rays are taken on-site and available immediately. Digital x-rays offer a fast, efficient and lower radiation alternative to their traditional counterparts. Because they are available immediately this can streamline the treatment planning process and helps to enhance the efficiency of our services.
Virtual treatment simulations
Our 3D scan shows instant visualisations of treatment options, allowing you to view and understand the transition from your current to your new smile
We can use your 3D scan to visually show you straight away the different treatment options that may be available to you. These virtual treatment simulations are invaluable for your understanding of what will occur. You’ll be able to see each of your teeth moving simultaneously and transitioning from your old to your new smile.
